Max (Rolf Maxwell) is one of the main characters and protagonist in Dino Squad. He is a hunky 18-year old high school senior in Ms. Moynihan's class. He is the leader of the Dino Squad and his dinosaur form is a Tyrannosaurus Rex
Design[]
Max has a green jacket with a white shirt underneath it. He also wears jeans. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Personality[]
Max is very loyal older teenage boy and will do the right thing when it is the right thing to do. Sometimes he needs to be told what is right and wrong, like when he didn't pass the ball in baseball and was reminded to include his team twice (the second time being 'Fire and ice') etc. Max is also very kind and will do anything for his team. He had some trouble understanding Liam but eventually saw him as a friend, he's also knowledgeable about different kinds of fear as shown in "The Not So Great Outdoors". He also enjoys football (American football), baseball, hockey, snowboarding, skateboarding and motocross. He was also receptive of people's emotions like when Rodger was feeling unappreciated by the rest of the team and Max was the only one (other than their teacher) to listen and address it. Being the team leader of the squad (both dino and Basketball), he tends to control things a lot and has tried to do stuff on his own a little too much.
He originally didn't want to be a dinosaur, claiming he 'wants to be a quarterback' in the pilot episode but eventually adjusts to being able to morph into a dinosaur.
He also likes hamsters, gaining a pet in 'Pet peeves' possibly joking about wanting to teach it soccer (football). He can be pretty competitive at times too (only in 'Easy riders and raging dinos'. He also complained about his education on a Saturday and the fact that most of what they learn won't be useful in life in 'The Trojan Dinosaur' but figures out using the Greek trojan horse method would help the team get their teacher back.
Max has a fear of his heartbeat.
Dino Form[]
When Max is not playing football or other sports, Max transforms into a Tyrannosaurus Rex. His dino form is a dark green in color, with dark reddish- brown splotches on his body with a lighter shade of green covering the underbelly and has small reddish-brown spikes on his back and a small point on the back of the head, and small horns on his snout. The eyes glow yellow in color like the other "Perfect Dinosaurs". Max is one of the strongest of the dinosaurs and packs a powerful punch with his powerful T-rex jaws.
Trivia[]
- Max is the team leader and captain of the football team.
- He may have a crush on Fiona, but doesn't try to show it. On the episode "Don't Judge a Dinosaur by it's Cover", when Fiona is bitten by a spider he is seen stroking her and trying to comfort her showing he is very caring.
- Max is voiced by Ian Eli Lee.
- Max originally did not want to become a dinosaur as he said: "I don't wanna be a dinosaur, I wanna be a quarterback"
- Max under most laws would be considered an adult rather than a teenager
- Max can hear his heartbeat on the episode "The Not So Great Outdoors".
- Max fears his own heart beating.
